Urban Agriculture Series, Chapter 2: Soil Health

Urban farmers are farming in communities throughout the United States. They are farming in cities, suburbs, and towns in community gardens; on rooftops; in hydroponic, aeroponic, and aquaponic facilities; neighborhoods; and more. The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) offers technical and financial assistance to urban farmers with conservation practices, such as high tunnels, soil health, weed and pest management, composting facilities, and irrigation.

Trailblazer RC&D, working in cooperation with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), has produced a series of videos featuring the assistance that is available to urban farmers from NRCS.

This is Chapter 2 in Trailblazer’s urban agriculture series: Soil Health
