Composting in Your Garden With Mark Wilson

Trailblazer RC&D works with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) to bring conservation information to urban farmers and backyard gardeners. As part of this effort, Trailblazer hosted a workshop on preparing spring gardens, with an emphasis on soil health. Mark Wilson, Horticulture Specialist with the Louisiana State University AgCenter, presented the workshop.

Trailblazer, working in cooperation with NRCS, produced a series of videos that are based Mark’s spring gardening workshop. This video features tips on composting in your garden. Other videos feature soil testing, planning, transplants, and more.

NRCS offers technical and financial assistance to urban farmers with conservation practices, such as high tunnels, soil health, weed and pest management, composting facilities, and irrigation.
