Learning About Soil & Water Conservation Districts with Drew Wiggers, Louisiana’s Northeast SWCD

Soil and Water Conservation Districts (SWCDs) are local units of government established under state law to carry out natural resource management programs at the local level. SWCDs work hand-in-hand with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service to provide technical assistance and information to farmers and ranchers to protect and improve the natural resources of their land.

This is an interview with Drew Wiggers, Franklin Parish Louisiana farmer and Northeast Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisor. The interview was conducted during a Soil Quality Workshop hosted by the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, Northeast Soil and Water Conservation District, and Trailblazer RC&D in Franklin Parish, Louisiana.
