Pond Maintenance: Keeping a Healthy Fish Population with Kevin Houston, La. Dept. of Wildlife and Fisheries

A healthy pond is a healthy ecosystem.  From the smallest phytoplankton (plant plankton) and zooplankton (animal plankton) to the largest predators (birds, raccoons, humans), it is an interconnected system where every plant or animal plays a part.  This clip features a discussion of how to increase the population of fish by paying attention to the soil quality of the pond.  The presentation was part of a Farm Pond Construction and Management workshop near Haughton, Louisiana.  The presenter is Kevin Houston of the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries.
