A farm pond can serve many different purposes: fishing area, swimming hole, wildlife habitat, water for livestock, or water for firefighting. This video features biologists from the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries sampling the fish population at a pond and a discussion of the condition of the fish and the pond. This clip is an excerpt from a “Farm Pond Construction and Maintenance” workshop presented by Trailblazer RC&D in Dubach, Louisiana. The presenters are Jeff Sibley, Kevin Houston, and Holden Poole of the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries.
