Honey Bees: Queen Bees With Amy Weeks Master Craftsman Beekeeper

A Honey Bees and Pollinators workshop was hosted in April 2022 at the Lincoln Parish Library in Ruston, Louisiana. Featured topics include creating pollinator habitats on the farm and in your yard; equipment needs, tools and protective gear for working with honey bees; and available financial/technical assistance.

Special guest speaker is Amy Weeks, Master Craftsman Beekeeper at My Favorite Honey in West Monroe, Louisiana. Weeks has served as past president of Hill Country Beekeepers, on the board of directors of the Louisiana Beekeepers Association, as a member of the American Apitherapy Society, and as a member of Monroe’s Herb Society.

In a hive, there will be one queen bee, hundreds of drones, and thousands of worker bees. This video features the queen bee.
